Pictures that sell

Here is a list my top selling pictures on the stock photography website, istockphoto.com. I hope this blog may give other photographers an idea about what subject matter and concepts to focus on. There is no point wasting time on subjects that are slow sellers. Time is money after all, and in stock photography these days, there are to many photos and too few buyers.

Images like this sell very well. I took this one in a parking lot on a Sunday when nobody was around. The repetition in this composition gives this image great interest. It has 22 downloads and $12 in royalties.

Another 3D image done on Maya. Very simple rendering with a strong concept. A very versatile image that can be used for a number of applications. This one has 28 downloads and $15 in royalties.

This one is a 3D image done on Maya. A simple rendering with a strong theme. These concepts are always fun to think up. This one has 35 download and $20 in royalties. However in time, I think this image will outsell almost all my other images.

Here is a great business shot that shows a real mood. It was shot in a real office during real working hours. If you can find a somebody willing to have their photo taken in a real work situation, it is a great opportunity. Just make sure they are willing to sign a model release. This one has over a 100 downloads and $45 in royalties.

This is my number one selling shot on almost all the websites I post too. A simple business themed shot perfect for call centers, etc. This one has over a 150 downloads and about $70 in royalties.
